In a special request, a client sought a landing craft RIB tender for a 115m yacht, aiming to transport equipment to shore within strict weight and space constraints.

A returning client requested two Williams 625 SOLAS rescue boats for their new 115m yacht but soon decided to replace one with a landing craft RIB tender (LCT) to transport electric vehicles and gear to shore. This necessitated designing an LCT within the confines of a pre-allocated Williams tender space and meeting a 2000kg crane weight limit, presenting both design and weight challenges.
Our team engineered a lightweight carbon fiber hull that fulfilled all SOLAS requirements and fit within the allocated garage space. The LCT was powered by two 40hp lightweight diesel outboards, tested and certified for SOLAS compliance. The resulting design met the client's requirements for vehicle transport, while the compact and lightweight structure ensured operational safety within the yacht's existing crane limits.
